Czech Music On The Road

Travelling Festival of Czech Alternative Music

Nightclub Home, Darling Harbour

After visiting over 20 countries of Europe alone, as well as Japan and the United States, the festival will be making its way down to Australia and New Zealand. The Sydney show will take place in Home Nightclub, located the city’s iconic Darling Harbour on November 26. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience world class experimental and progressive music.

The bands featured on the night are:

Uz Jsme Doma, (pronounced oosh-smeh-dough-ma), is a progressive rock band from Czech Republic. The band's approach to arrangements and style is unique in the world of rock. They bring the instruments and vocals in different directions within the same scales and keys to create a dense melodic atmosphere. In addition, their rhythms often accent off-beats and half-beats, throwing the listener in unexpected directions.

The band frequently tours the entire world, playing nearly 2000 shows in their 24 year history They have visited over 30 different countries, performing more than 600 shows in the US alone, as well as Japan, Russia and Canada.

BOO is a half Czech, half Austrian band based in Prague:

“Raw and driven, that's what BOO's music is. Christoph Pajer's edgy vocals combined with rattling electric guitar and rhythmically demanding drums create a powerful and uncompromising sound." (Mlada Fronta Dnes)”... “Their directness captures the audience after the first couple of minutes after which the BOO can change the atmosphere depending on the mood...” (Rock&Pop Magazine). BOO have had a number of tours and performances in the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Russia, Poland and Slovakia.

Ty Sycaci: The strongest point of Ty Sycaci is their uncompromising sharp style and their continuous effort in externalizing their ideas. The band does not adapt to genres, it creates them. Ty Sycaci originated in 2000 as an initiative of Petr Vasa, one of the most prominent personalities in the Czech alternative scene. Vasa is an extraordinary singer, lyricist, performer and experimenter, the only Czech musician who can literally use his whole body as a musical instrument. He himself describes this style as “physical poetry”
